The 8th Septis Congress of the German Sepsis Society (DSG) in Weimar was performed under the slogan 'Facing the Challenges'.

Lectures by leading international experts and scientific discussions were devoted to the four major challenges of sepsis treatment, which are on the agenda of the Research Center of the Center for Sepsis Control & Care (CSCC): Bugs, Drugs, Damage, Repair.

State-of-the-Art knowledge of new septic definitions and current publications from basic research and clinical research was presented.
